Best At DREAMING BIG 2018
As entrepreneurs, we're never not learning. We crave innovation and new ideas and felt that we could bring something new to our city. Bakersfield has such potential and we see the value in helping other businesses find how who they are and why they do it - all in a well thoughtout and beautiful way.
We started Brandwell in Bakersfield because that’s where we all live, work, and play. We are a group of friends that wants to be apart of building and shaping our community and we want to help businesses grow, develop, tell their stories, and look stinkin’ awesome doing it.
We're excited to continue offering our two-day workshops, meetups and work sessions this year where we help businesses become brands. Our community is growing and we hope to be agents of change and helpers of some brands doing great things here in town.
Being creative in Bakersfield influences my business because it is what set us apart. Coffee shops are a dime a dozen, but my concept is hard to come by. I was one of the first in the U.S. to make a mobile coffee bar of this caliber, and then I brought that back to Bakersfield. But for Cloud 9 Coffee, creativity didn’t stop with the vision & buildout. We make drinks that no one has ever done… we continue to make ourselves different with creativity in our food & beverages. Although we are small, the dream is big, and we have great things planned!
We have many things in the works, but one that I don’t mind sharing is that we are expanding! By the end of 2018 we plan to have at least 2 more locations in Bakersfield.
Working in Bakersfield's urban core and the entrepreneurial small business community provide a great source of creativity. I enjoy the ability to help craft the narrative for a modern and thriving downtown community.
I'm excited to see expanded interest in Multifamily housing within Bakersfield's central district. Playing off the success of 17th Place, I look forward to working with inspiring clients to provide more diverse urban housing options.
Being creative in Bakersfield gives us such a unique opportunity to work with brides and grooms just as creative and unique as we are. We love to step outside the comfort zone of the normal black and white or one accent color wedding. We love creating statement peaces unique to each couple. We love creating outside the box ideas. Taking creative risks that make a drastic statement to each event. Being creative in Bakersfield inspires us to bring an LA or San Francisco experience local. We strive to never repeat the same ideas and we push our clients to do the same.
We are very excited to be collaborating this April with several generous Bakersfield vendors, creating a unique one of a kind wedding at JEH ranch. The wedding is for a couple who lost their home in the Willow fires this past October. Being creatives in Bakersfield is about more than just creating a beautiful wedding, and dreaming with our couples, but about the bond you make during the creative planning and process.
The best community builders are creatives at heart. In the work we do, we are constantly inspired by other creatives in Bakersfield, by the artists in our community doing important work building things - some with a brush, some with a shovel, some a camera, some use a computer and keyboard, some choose a pen. Every day, we find ourselves using creative problem-solving to tackle issues in our community. Creative thinking — dreaming up new and unique ways of doing things — is a huge part of our process. Unconventional thinking can go a long way in just about every aspect of business, but we find it crucial to our success. When we moved to Bakersfield to start our entrepreneurial journey through Sage Equities, we found ourselves exercising these creative problem-solving muscles more than we'd ever done at jobs in the past. And we can't imagine going back!
We are working on developing a new multi-family residential community downtown - location and details to be announced soon!
